Presentation of Hubay Concert Ensemble
It was founded with the aim that the young musicians come of a gypsy family, after leaving several other orchestras, wanting professionally more, having respect for our musical traditions, should go on their own musical way. The first station of this way was the appearance of our CD disc entitled "On the way of Hubay". It came to light of the disc that our excellently trained young musicians besides the traditional gypsy and folk music can play compositions of Bartók, Liszt, Kodály as well as the pieces of Bach or Toselli. We frequently act on such internal and external festivals as on the present year's Festival of Debrecen, on the Spring Festival of Siófok, on the Festival of Szeged or on the Musical Festival of Nyborg in Denmark. There were several occasions when they were invited to perform in the United States Israel and in several other european countries. The ensemble glady performs on family events, balls, concerts after conferences, turistical exhibitions as well as in cultural institutions művelődési and festivals too.
By the year 2011, in honor of the 200th anniversary of Ferenc Liszt’s birth we have arranged a new concert programme. Our orchestra, apart from the anniversary, revives regularly Liszt compositions but in honor of the memorial year we prepare ourselves for a whole night's programme. The performance of Kodály, Bartók, Liszt compositions mean the greatest challenge to our young musicians. By the selection of this type of compositions and by their orchestration we had to take into consideration the folk-orchestral combination of the musicians. In consequence of the characters of our folk instruments, Liszt's compositions sound in a peculiar way contrary to the manner of rendering by classical orchestras which can be rarely heard on the stages of the world..
